Is it possible to rank one page landing page?

Considering that:
1. it's a medium competition long tail keyword with 2000 searches /mo
2. domain name contains keyword.

    I think for this you will have to try to make high quality links and the SMO should be great. You should take help of Facebook to target your audience, more your content is shared more chances to pop up on page one.

    According to the Google algorithm, your website domain should not contain with exact keywords. Google launch EMD (Exact Match Domain) algorithm that hit only low quality and exact match domain websites, a couple of months ago pile of websites hits by this algorithm. You can get top ranking by generating high quality backlinks for your target keyword, but Google will push down your website soon in search engine results listing.

    It is possible if you build brand name, buy banner ads, and display just the name of your website without linking your site.... you can use, print and TV media....

    People will know your site, they will search in Google, you will get too many direct traffics too, all these will help in optimizing the site for Google search engine..

    What about number of search results? Have you checked your competition in page 1, let say does it have wikipedia, mayoclinic, other big brands and high pr sites, etc

    At first glance, I think you can rank high.. but with serious SEO

    It is possible, but only in the short-term - it won't maintain rankings for long.

    The easiest way to do this is to have a blog behind the landing page in order to beef out the website and add value away from the homepage. This, of course, needs to be good quality.
