I have set up a website and I have put the keywords (in context) in the title tags, meta tags, headers, content and image alt tags. I havent over optimised them and kept the density at around 1% (as I have used variations of the keyword).

When I plug my website into semrush; it doesnt even pick up the keywords im going for.

Can anyone help me on this? Thanks

Semrush doesn't display the keywords your site is optimised for; that's not the purpose of the tool. Rather, what it does is show you what keywords your site is already ranking for in Google and Bing, theit search volume, and where your site ranks for them.

Thanks for your questions .please first take your keywords from your website content. if you provide keywords what are not similar with your website content then Google & others are not going to mark it so use keywords what is very similar with your website content.

Well, if your main keywords are included in the header, meta tag, as well as contents and image, the thing is that Google will be able to pick them up. I don't think that you have to use some sort of special tool in order to determine whether your main keywords will be picked up.
