Go for a country specific domain to target the audience, so co.uk will be best. But if you are providing same services to rest of the world then use .com(preferred) .

You can also make changes in Webmasters if you just want to stick with any of the domains. Just target the country in international targeting tochoose where you want to target your audience.

Go with your country domain i.e co.uk for better ranking position in your country.

If the UK has the highest priority, then go for a .co.uk domain name instead. Note that a .com domain can also rank well in Google UK and a .co.uk domain can also rank well in Google US.

If you are planning to target the whole UK market then .co.uk or .UK extension will do the fine job, but if you wish to target specific city only such as London then you can register .London extension as well.

The first one is a dating website so we will target all of the UK. A .co.uk might be the best then.

For the second site we will target London as our first city but we might as well target Paris (or a city in another country) as our second city, etc...
Maybe a .com would be more suited for the second one?
      www.brandname.com/city/

As your second website will target Global cities then www.brandname.com/city/ looks OK to me. Even brandname.com/city is affordable and sensible choice than registering domain with each city name extension. Earlier I thought your second website will only target London city.

Yes, if you are going to targeting the UK and the cities there, then yes, get a .co.uk.

And Idearock has the right idea of getting the .com and .net versions as well for the redirect. That way if someone can't remember it's a .co.uk and they go to the .com, it's still you.

Go with a .com for any global targets and .co.UK for country specific targets.

    ,
The domain with the UK in the beginning is really long and hardly to read... Moreover why is that dotcom? For the second one you can go with co.uk as you are doing good local SEO!

If you are targetting only uk then go for co.uk but it would be better if you take .com as it will have more credit in the eyes of google.
