New member seeking advice/suggestions on wordpress/CB project.

Greetings! I am new to the forum and relatively new to SEO. I came to this forum about 4 hours ago with the intent to ask a question. I viewed this category/thread to look for previously answered questions similar to mine and I just couldn't stop reading posts. I've got Google docs filled with notes now. There is just so much useful information here. The downside of this is I only have a basic grasp on the fundamentals of SEO. So now I have more questions that I did before I came here. lol
With the above being said I will, for now, approach the basics in the following questions.
Briefly what I am doing: I am taking on a wordpress site. I will be promoting ClickBank products. I am targeting long tailed keywords. As of now all I am using (all that I know to use) is Google Keyword Tool and Keywordtool.io. I use them together to get ideas for said long tailed keywords. The site is very simple featuring 6-8 pages. Each page targeting a new long tail. I don't plan on making daily posts as a blog but I do plan to add a new page every few weeks/months. Mostly a site that once it's done it's done. I'll just make sure it is updated weekly/monthly. I don't plan to get rich off this site. My goal is to make 5 or 10 small sites like this, each promoting a new CB product. I use an SEO plugin in wordpress to sort of guide me while I create the pages and the content.
1.) When it comes to choosing a TLD for a domain name... up until a few hours ago (after reading some posts here) I thought all domains were treated the same. A stupid, and possibly costly, assumption I made. How do TLDs really work? Examples: Does .us get priority of .com? If so in what cases and context? Any info on TLDs work (or per-written guides) is appreciated. If the .com I want is taken does the .net or .org have less value or rank less in Google?
2.) Is $100.00 - $300.00 monthly unrealistic for a simple site like this? Does it have more potential?
3.) I have seen "LSI" being used here along side "Long Tailed Keywords". I understand the later but not the former. What is LSI in regards to SEO?
4.) Is there anything that any of you would or could suggest to me? Me being new to marketing and SEO.
5.) For my first site of this type I am searchng for long tailed keywords with monthly searches of about 300 - 2,000. Most of the keywords/phrasesI am finding have 300 - 800 monthly searches. Should I not bother with long tails with such little searches or is this fine?
Apologies for so much to read. Just a lot to learn! Thanks in advance!
NOTE: I don't want to make just any crappy sites. I want to make quality sites that are based on quality techniques, strategies, and are relevant to my niches. I also want to make sure I am learning everything the right way and not focusing on learning things I don't need to know right now. theres just to much to learn to try and learn it all before launching a site.
