Who is duplicator of this content? [Scenario] - Question for the Experts here

Hi all,
I was thinking about this the other night and wanted to get other people's opinions on who they think Google would see as the person who is duplicating content:
Ugly Scenario
You purchase an awesome dot com domain from someone that has great content and great links that they built in 2012-early 2014. The site owner decides to take the site down for whatever reason. The domain has now been parked for the last 2 years resulting in the pages with the great content no longer being indexed in Google. You obtain this new website on October 1, 2014.
You decide to rebuild this content on the same URLs to ensure that you are not wasting link juice from broken links.
You then realize that the person who had sold you the domain has republished the content on another domain. Therefore, if you republish the content, there is now a duplicate content issue. You can see that the content was republished on April, 2014 on another domain.
