How do i make google sniper work in 2014?

Hey everyone,
as i had weritten in my previous thred, i'm a complete begginer to intenet marketing or site building, and i had just this week (almost) finished up my first site following george browns' google sniper and i need people who used it as well to help me understand how to implement it today, because as some of you may know google sniper is a bit outdated and it's aparrantly been a long time since 2011, but i know the method still works because i'm seeing sniper sites all over the place doing very well in rankings and people still do it, so what i'm trying to do is bridge the gap of all the changes hat happened since that guide was made, for example- the 'all in SEO pack' now has a newer version with different settings, and i would really thank anyone that can tell me how to configure them, because right now i have no idea if it's configured correctly and it must be hurting my ratings,
also, the home page of the site is indexed on google (it comes up when i google the domain) but it's nowhere to be seen on the organic results or the exact results for the keyword, and the only place i see my site on google is when i search for the keyword with quotes for an exact search, it's first post is ranking number 10 and then another one of its posts and the contact page at places 12,13 but it's just posts from my website, and they link to the posts alone, not the home page, which is a serious problem because the homepage is nowhere to be seen.. rank checkers say it's number 38\39, and that's after i added 3 fairly large posts, set up all the pages (conact, home and privacy policy) added all the plugins (all in on seo, google xml sitemap, digg digg, pretty link) and basically finished up the website other than the last post (the important one) and the banner and affiliate links, which i'm not adding yet because the guide says you only add that after you get ranked (do you?) or it will hut you rankings?
so i don't know guys, i really need help on this one, i only pinged it for the first time like three days ago and but i haven't made a video for it (is that a must?) and i haven't done any social bookmarking (also must?), so it has no backlinks at all, like 5 outgoing links on the sidebar like the 'sniper x' video shows but since wordpress got all different since 2011 i couldn't do it like they show so i just added the links on a text widget on the sidebar (is it the same?), it's nowhere in the rankings but i think the on page optimization is pretty badass, so, what am i missing here?
need your help people, how do i get this site up to a solid #1?

Perhaps because of the impatience you've shown throughout the whole thread? People comment here to help others for free - not because they are paid or have an incentive. Right now, you've basically stopped me from helping you because you're getting irate for not receiving "free" answers.

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

That's because everyone just contradicts each other and no one has any actual advice relevant to the situation, it seems like people just wanna get in here to bash on google sniper or tell me to take a different approach, and most people don't offer any piece of info that has anything to do with what im asking

People have informed you that using Google Sniper is not a good method to use in 2014, but essentially you are saying that you want to follow it anyway.

What's the point in learning something that's no longer relevant and almost completely out of date?

Well, by out of date i meant that the content in the guide is just of outdated softwear versions and services, but the method itself (which is pretty basic) still pretty much applies today, doesn't it?
i mean, what has changed that suddenly prevents these sites for ranking for these specific non competitive keywords and making sales off specific clickbank products? they have a follow up course (sniper x) with a ton more videos and a bunch of extra content that they made well into 2012 with a lot of the changes to the intenet and google and stuff, so it's probably not THAT outdated.. now it's a limited potential method i'll give u that, but do u like actually mean it doesn't work to get rankings anymore? and if so why exactly?

I think because Google changed all it's algorithms and it's harder to get rankings with just keywords but I could be wrong...like I said I'm still learning the ropes too..

The best piece of advice that anyone can give you with regards to Google Sniper would be to stop reading it, stop putting the "advice" into practice and probably to pursue a refund. You see, Google sniper is a product that had the "potential" to deliver some monetray gain - in 2009. Today, pretty much everything it teaches spits in the face of Google's webmaster guidelines and the end result of this is yourself, with a low quality website that isn't ranking well in Google and an empty wallet.

yeah yeah yeah i get that, i know it's outdated and it's far from optimal especially today and that's what i need help with, you see i have absolutly no background in this and up until a month ago i didn't know anything at all about what affiliate marketing even was, and say what you will about google sniper but it's probably one of the only programs that can turn a complete beginnger to a (potential) intenet marketer in just a couple of weeks, and so i get what you are saying but your'e not really helping me with anything and not giving me any alternatives to google sniper are you?

Sniper sites have long gone. Try thinking "silo" sites! A 10 page website can still do very well when set up right. Do some research on silo's.

Forget about those plugins, get REAL links and you can literally RANK anything you want. You don't need products, tactics or systems for ranking well on Google.

more real links = better rankings on G, more money into your pocket.

I hear what you are saying about being a total Newbie and get that you need help...Chris Farrell has recently updated his membership and he's an honest and trustworthy internet market...I would look into his site or JoBarnes! Both great membership sites to get you up and running in 2014...

I just think that Google Sniper may be little outdated since everything changes so quickly in the internet marketing world and those sites may have more relevant info you could use. I get what you mean about starting all over though...I set my site up in 2011 and left if for a few years and now that I am back into it it's all different and way easier to set up but I feel like that would be counter productive to start from scratch again!

I'm sorry I wish I could help but I am somewhat of a Newbie myself and still trying to figure that stuff out too...it can be overwhelming for sure but there is a lot of experienced marketers here that have great advice...adding a link into your signature may be a good start but like i said idk either

OK, got pretty deep in to that one but it's not something that i'm gonna do to this site cause that will involve HUGE changes to it and i only need it to rank for just one keyword, so if you have any advice on link building, social bookmarking or any seo method i should use to rank it as it is (plus the final post eventually) for just my one keyword? it's a long tale keyword and not very competitive, so i have no doubt it can be done, so how do i do it?

I also tried to make Google Sniper 2.0 work in 2014 but failed simply because it's outdated and a waste of time. This is a FACT. You don't have to try HARD to make it work because it simply doesn't. Like others said, there is no point in following a course which is outdated and does not work. Why don't you look for Google Sniper Alternatives? My story is pretty much similar to yours.. I stopped working with Google Sniper and I have now bought Bring The Fresh which is, I can say, an alternative to Google Sniper but it's always UPDATED with new methods of keyword research, backlinks and all that stuff.
