What do I need to do to be listed on page 1 under Google My Business for a local business. All of the listings I see have Google+, but what else do you need to do? What other factors does Google consider?

Thanks!

You need to google up "Phil Rozek"

He's got enough info freely available on his site so that you can probably get there.

Google local isn't that tough. The main thing I see when a client approaches me about local is they've screwed up their NAP. That's name, address, and phone#. You want to keep that consistent across the board and on your website. No deviations.

very simple. Create a gmail a coount, then create G+ page for your company. Complete the details like complete address, business full name, contact details, Brief description of your company. Add your other social media profile links there..,That's it!!!

Yes, but don't just rely on Google Your Business - looks to me as if they have repackaged and renamed their old products.

Sometimes having keywords in your Google Plus page name make that page rank on Google..The solution -
    1. Create a Google plus page and verify it
    2. Have keywords in the Description
    3. Use Name, Address and Phone number in proper manner both in your website and Google plus page
    4. Build some quality links
    5. Build Citation

You usually want to go for either Authority (links from authority domains) or relevancy (links from highly relevant content). Obviously getting both is ideal but that's what is usually meant by quality links.

Ignore it, he's full of crap and if you do it your page will be switched to inactive. That's old information and is outdated.

Local SERPs actually have very little to do with links, link quality, etc. It used to be that way a while ago but now the majority of the importance is on on page optimization and on page relevance to the local area and main category selection. Focusing on keyword topics instead of keywords is important. Reviews are important. Citations with consistent NAP are important.
