Is it safe or risky to create MANUALLY backlinks from forums ?
And i mean for forums with page rank from 3 to 7. Not with zero or 1 ranking.
I think it is ok if you don't post all the time, or if you don't spam and just act like normal people. But someone told me, that even this is bad for google and my site will be punished.
What is your opinion ?

Yes, your website will be "punished" for building a link in a forum. Google monitors all forums for illegal activity and will prosecute you with the FBI if you build a link from a PR3-PR7 forum.

That's what the dog around the corner said anyway..

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

You really only create the link manually when you edit your sig.

Then, when making 1,000 posts, the links in your sig are
generated automatically by the forum script.

      Therefore, you are safe.

      How's that for logic?

What's prolly not safe is creating a foreign language signature on an English language forum, that links back to a foreign language site.

No doubt Google has already detected this

It may be safe if forum is also in the same niche as your website. Fr eg: If you have a link from a parenting forum to a parenting blog, it may be contextual and be safe

It's not about creating it manually but rather making quality links.

You can still manually penalize your site.

Depends on your reason for creating the forum posts. If you are creating them just for the purpose of getting backlinks, you'll find it hard to do it properly and therefore your site will be at a higher risk of getting penalised. But if you are contributing naturally to the forum, I see no reason why you can't get forum backlinks without any fear of incurring a penalty.

Ya be careful how you post in the forums, if you are just spamming to get your site out there as much as possible you will probably just get banned by the forum in the first place. Try to post legitimate helpful responses, and you can put your link in your signature. The best forum to post in would be this one i think as it gets a lot of traffic.

But i dont think your site itself will be penalized, if anything it should help because forum backlinks look very natural as far as i know.
