Ranking pages with too many links to a subdomain

One of my clients has a store run by a third party and impossible to optimize for seo, so we moved it to store.domainname.com. We created a website for www.domainname.com but every page has multiple links to a) the store itself (sub-domain), b) different categories within the store (store.domainname.com/product-category) and c) different products (store.comainname.com/product).

Even though SEO Yoast and MOZ green-light and give "A"s for all of the pages, I have read that too many outbound links can have a negative effect for the website even if they are going to the sub-domain. This is not something mentioned anywhere in MOZ or SEO Yoast plug in so I don't know if I should be concerned.

Thanks.

What is the threshold for "too many" to you?

According to Google, you can have as many outbound links on any page of your site but you should link out reasonably. And any page of your site that contains many outbound links should also have long-form content.

      Thank you,

I had about 200-300 words on each page and about 20 outbound links to the store. The content looks very skinny, but it's the exact format of the top ranking websites for that category. However, the competition includes Office Depot and Target stores in some cases so I'm guessing that just because they ranked a page with only a few products and product descriptions doesn't mean that I can accomplish the same with my 24 page website, so I ordered more content to expand the articles.

The website is only a month old and it's still going up and down in rankings, some pages are ranking on the 2nd page of Google and some are not even in the top 50. However, they're all bouncing up and down which I have seen before on all of my new websites and it makes it really hard for me to tell which changes are resulting positive or negative effects.

Mat Cutts talks about pages with 100 or more outbound links so I don't think I should be worried about that.
