I must have been hit by penguin 3.0, lost like 80% of my google traffic. But my posts have only been pushed back by 1 page, 3 pages at the most for some more competitive stuff.

Does this mean I've been fully hit and wont be able to make it back to page 1?

I'm hoping i will rise back up to page 1 or 2, the only back linking I ever did was tiny bit of manual social bookmarking and sharing with social media, everything else was natural. Very strange penguin crap going on here.

How many ranked pages lost rank, 1 page, 100 pages?

I have about 150 pages indexed that were all on either page 1 to 3 for their titles. They have all been pushed back from what I can tell by about 1,2, or 3 pages at most.

This little push back has killed about 80% of my google traffic.

Actually I'm finding some pages now that are pushed way back 15+ pages, and a couple that are still on page 1.

I can see some of my links from stumbleupon and redgage ranking in front of my pages, with exact match anchor text. So I'm thinking the problem is exact match anchor text coming from literally 2 or 3 social bookmarking sites.

If I change these anchors would i see an eventual serp increase, or would I have to wait for the next refresh?

I know this will be difficult to hear but I wouldn't change anything on-page for the previously ranked pages that have dropped in the SERPs.

Take a good look at your IBLs (inbound links), most likely something has changed there, either the links dropped off of authority pages or the links have been devalued (ex: links on spammy comment backlink pages with 100's of irrelevant links). Are the pages with your strongest backlinks still indexed?

The reason I say this is, If your on-page money page/s didn't change for previously ranked pages that kinda narrows it down to IBLs.

Sometimes when Google does an algo. update they shake up the SERPs & pages eventually return to their previously ranked SERP position.

If you do anything on the money domain, build new/additional pages targeting the same keywords with fresh IBLs. That way at the very least your adding authority instead of chasing algo. updates. Again, your old pages could potentially bounce back which combined with the new pages/links targeting the same keywords could boost your authority per keyword on the SERPs.

Hi guys, I have created a post on my blog about how what the latest update hit specifically, how to avoid it and how to fix your site if you have been hit.

Penguin 3.0 fix list post here.

    Hope it helps.

I got hit as well. @Yukon - My IBL's were affected, so I think you're onto something here.
