We are using ablecommerces built in affiliate program - I am trying to obtain affiliates for our program. I am wondering if you can steer me in the right direction to find people to join our program. We offer 10% commision - our average sale is $100.00 -
If you can offer any advice I would appreciate it

    Hi Sue,

What sort of products are you selling?

One way of finding affiliates would be to find websites that are already promoting products similar to the ones that you sell. You could then approach the webmasters of these sites to invite them to your affiliate program.

Take care so that it doesn't appear like you are spamming - it is better to send a well thought out personal email to a webmaster than a generalized one. I usually always delete the latter.

You could also submit details of your affiliate program to online affiliate directories - there are lots of them, just search in Google.

Depending on your budget and the type of product you have you may also want to consider signing up for an affiliate network.

    Cheers,
    Suzanne

    Sue,

If you have $50-$100 to spend in advertising, I suggest you do a search for the top MANUAL SURF TRAFFIC EXCHANGES. Buy some credits from the top 3-4 sources.

Create a landing page about your affiliate offer. Make sure everything is above the fold. If you grab enough interest through that you will accomplish 2 things:

    1) How interesting your product is to the affiliate (if they think it's good enough to promote, then customers will want to buy - good indication of a great product)

    2) You'll grab up affiliates for pennies on the dollar and if you get enough of them, you'll make plenty of money

This is a great market research process to know how good you'll do especially since people on TE really don't care too much on what's there, but if you're able to capture their attention, you're good to go.

One last thing. I suggest depending on the number of sources you do, duplicate the landing page according to the source so that you can track and know exactly where your traffic is coming from and which one resulted in the new affiliate. Be sure you have analytics on it or something.

    Good luck.
