Buying target keyword domain and redirecting to money site?

Hello,

Title says it all really.
The keyword I am looking to target in Google, is available as a .com and .co.uk extension.

If I buy both of these, and redirect them to my website, will this help improve rankings for that keyword?

    If there's no existing strong links pointing at the .com or .co.uk there's no SEO value as far as ranking pages.

    Domain names don't rank pages, links rank pages.

    No, your rankings won't improve. Why? Because they would be new domains and wouldn't have any backlinks pointing to them. Redirecting a keyword-rich domain to your website won't have any effect on your rankings.

    you could buy the domain (so long as its not some crazy long tail EMD) and then build yourself a niche site out of it - and include it into a PBN type of situtation to your money site, you can get referral traffic + some decent links if you build it out correctly -

    but yes - links will be the ultimate factor here, you will need them to make taht new site have any kind of authority - and same to money site
