Youtube Commenting Good To Get Your Video Ranked!?

Correct me if I'm wrong but comment links on Youtube video's are dofollow internally right?

Wouldn't that make it very easy to drive a ton of authority to your video's by commenting on other people's popular video's and thus rank higher in Google.

Maybe silly to even start a thread about that but for what I know there are quite a few people who offer video ranking services and all they talk about is fake views, likes, comments on your own video and useless spam blasts mainly existing of nofollow blog comments on other sites with guarantees to rank in Google and in Youtube.

Actually I tested a few of these providers and they achieve results 1 out of 5 times, and that;s only in Youtube and not anywhere to be seen in the Google search results at all and not surprisng really when you see what they do.

So why aren't these people offering things that do matter, like I just pointed out, at least that drives some real authority and heck who knows it might work in Youtube's engine as well to push the video up.

Haven't noticed this thing (comment links on Youtube video's are dofollow internally) on YouTube, but certainly its a great way to generate quality and relevant inbound links for your YouTube videos and rank higher in Google.

Commenting on other relevant YT videos helps in getting some links to your own channel. I doubt though you can place links in comments without getting labeled as spam unless if you are the owner of the video.

To rank YouTube videos, you need to take care of them the same way you do with your own website. As in, driving high quality relevant links, engaging in social media networks, naturally promoting them and embedding them at the most relevant places. The old times of spamming your videos with thousands of links or comments and rankings them online are gone long time ago!

    Hope that helps!

P.S: The last time i checked that, comments links on YouTube were nofollow. If you are talking internally though, then yes, they do pass some power around.

No need to place links in comments, as your username functions as a link back to your channel, which is internal and thus dofollow.

Good point about embedding them at relevant places, have to try that some day, normally we just linked from high PR pages, perhaps embedding works better and it doesn't take any more effort.

You definitely want to be embedding in relevant places as well as building backlinks, but from what I've seen (and this is just my personal experience so by no means the end-all-be-all), the embeds have done far better.

Youtube is pretty much locking down internal links, there's been drastic internal link changes (nofollow) over the last year.

The latest news is Youtube is considering moving towards a paid subscription business model so enjoy the free stuff while it last. A lot of major players are switching over to paid subscriptions following Adobe, even Microsoft is supposed to move their future OS to a paid subscription.

In other words, good luck with anything connected to Youtube.

To get a video ranked on the first page of Google, you definitely need backlinks for the video. Views, comments, likes and subscriptions can be also factors for that.
