Yoy must first find out why google banned your domain and then you must fix the errors or penalties on your site. When every thing on your site is according to googles guidelines you may re submit your domain to google.

First, you should remove all of your un-natural backlinks.
Second, check your website's entire content. If there is any duplicate or low quality content, remove it instantly.
Third, follow all the Google quality guidelines.
Fourth, check your webmaster tool properly and contact the Google support team.
Remember, it will take some time, so be patient and wait for Google support team's reply.

    Hi,

If your domain got banned then its a bit difficult to get it un-banned then you need to fix all the errors and need to pay all the penalties of Google and first thing you need to know why your website got banned.

Not being listed at all in G's index is beyond a penalty... Its way serious.... Personally I would ditch the domain and start again due to the amount of effort required which could end up feeling like an endless journey with no end with it leading to a reconsideration request to G and over and over again if you are lucky to get any form of feedback... Better to put your energy and resources else where...

Perhaps another way would be to let the domain expire outright way passed its sell buy date (redemption period to resurrect) - I doubt no one would buy it given its history but still a risk .... And in the meanwhile focus your energy elsewhere...

G will then discount all of the history at some point beyond the redemption period (as of course buying old domains as part of PBNs is big business but thats always done within the redemption/grace period)... So therefore the domain needs to go past this and ultimately be removed from the ICANN database... then after that you may have a chance of picking it backup with it being all cleared.

It might be quicker than trying to fix it if the domain is approaching expiry? Will that work - I really don't know - having never been in that situation... But all depends how you assess the risk on this approach to vs. trying to fix it...

I mention that as it would be interesting to compare the two approaches.... always good to have all your options at hand before making your move...

Suffice to say good luck with what you choose to go for... I really hope it works out.

    P.S.

I'm no fan of G & Co but... In Matt Cutts own words "By the way, I’d argue that some expired domains are closer to a bank at one location that goes out of business and becomes a coffee shop. That coffee shop can build up its reputation on its own, but shouldn’t automatically get the customers that were showing up hoping to do their banking. "

Depends on why your site was deindexed. If you have a WMT account, I would start there. You can fix whatever errors or penalties that are applied to your site and request a reconsideration. It is a ton of work though and not a guarantee that Google will reindex your site. If the branding isn't important, may be easier to start on a new domain.

    First step.

How do you know you are banned?

    Run this search through Google:

    site:domain.tld

This will list all the pages under your domain that Google has indexed. If a significant number of your webpages are indexed, it's not a ban.

If you think your site is penalized, which is not ranking when you think it should be or used to rank. Why do you believe this is a penalty and not normal rank changes? Have you got a message under Google Webmaster Tools for example, if so which message?

There's a huge difference between banned, penalized and just not ranking.

That's a great point that many just don't seem to get... Especially with ranking loss due to other sites getting hit and thus less link juice being passed in... Which seems to be confused a lot for a penalty these days .... and with that a growing industry dedicated to penalty fixes it seems...
