I want to use adwords' placement ads and select specific sites. The only problem is... I want to target sites specifically catered to my niche and the ad placement tool google has absolutely SUCKS!

Anything out there that will tell me what sites have adsense based on a keyword search. If I know what sites have adsense, then I know what that I can place my ads there.

If you use FireFox do a search for Ghostery. It is a plugging that will show you the scripts and any other hidden elements on any page that you visit, including adsense.

Content Bully does this well. The free version gives you the top ten results, if they accept adwords and ad box size run.

pro version gives you top 100 results, csv exporting and country filtering.
