    This is actually the first time I heard about Google carousel.
    I remember one time I searched about all horror movies from 2014 and then a list of movies appeared under the search box, I was not aware that it was a google carousel at that time but now I know.. just saying..

    The Carousel algorithm is identical to Google Places if you were to still call it the Carousel The main differences between the two is one holds more weight on social and the other holds more weight on reviews. There is smaller differences but nothing worth talking about.
