    Social Bookmarking on popular sites can have some value. But it should not be spam of links in lower quality, pligg social bookmarking sites.

    Social bookmarks = links on spammy, no authority, no name, worthless sites.

    And the links are nofollow too, so they won't pass any tiny link juice they have to your site. Spend your time building better backlinks.

    Social bookmarking sites like stumbleupon and reddit can get you hundreds or thousands of visitors per day if your posts stays up top. Bookmarks can also count as good back-links ranked in Google so it is not a waste. Social media should account for about 1/3 of your SEO.

    Reddit drives steady traffic to my site. All you need to do is find a subreddit and find a way to get your link their without looking spammy.

    I would focus on top 15 social networks and bookmarking sites, the others may just consume too much of your time. A lot of people may think social media isn't all that important but what better way to tell google your site is important then being shared by other people?
