Keyword ranking/ Content

I had a few newb questions.

I have a local service website and it has about 30 pages for each keyword I want to rank. 5 main pages have about 1000 words, and Secondary pages under each of the main KW have about 400-500 words.

I want to try and rank a bunch of Long tail keywords for example keyword/zipcode type KW. To target a bunch of zip codes.

Do I need to make posts/pages for each actual zip code to try and rank? Is there a better way without looking spammy and stuffing a bunch of zip codes on one page?

Seems like a lot of work, but I want to do this right so I can rank high for these LSI keywords.

Also how much content would be sufficient for these LSI pages? Can I do like 200-300?

Last question is if I want these to rank and build links will my Homepage/Top level links boost these up or do I actually need links to the exact Zip code pages?

Thanks

I personally have never searched for a product/service in my zip code. I search for city names. Have you done any keyword research? I could be dead wrong, just a suggestion.

I second this but if you've done your research and you're sure zip codes are the way you want to go, then I would definitely do a unique page for each zip code.

Yes it is a lot of work. It's a lot of work to be the best at what you do.

I do get some decent search results with zip codes. May nt be real winners, but I wanted to rank high for them and hopefully help to rank some of my main KW in the long run..

If you don't want to make it look spammy then write your content in a natural way, with your target audience in mind. The length of the content doesn't matter as long as you give the information you think your audience might looked for on your site.
