Redirect site vs start a second site

Which would be ideal situation - can redirecting a site make it like new even if the same content is simply moved to a new domain or https?

Also keeping a site - see if it can be fixed next penguin update which could be months or a year from now - and having a second site in the niche to work on ? It may be tricky to do double content though - but maybe a unpenalized site could show more for long tail keyeord searches, etc

Thanks

Why are you building junk links to content that's worthy of moving to a new domain?

It's like buying a Ferrari & using Dollar General oil. It's not a long term strategy.

A 301 redirect will forward the 1st domains links back to the 2nd domain.

Start a new site If Google slapped the 1st site.

Another option, If you build a new site with new content (targeting Google SERPs) you could use the old site for Yahoo & Bing SERPs. They're 10 years behind the Google algo.

I'm not building junk links. I'm seeking out quality links. Wondering how I can get products seen online in the serps while penguin penalized.

Tge penalty will transfer to the new domain if you redirect the penalised domain so it's not advisable. If you can't create a new site with new content while waiting for the old site to recover, you can just deindex the old site and use it's content on your new domain. After all, your chances of recovering are slim to none (most sites never recover).

Hear that. I've had some success in the past month removing a lot of links so I think over optimized anchor text could go down soon and algorithmically Google might notice bad links being removed. Penguin may take a months to a year to refresh again so maybe a second site could help.

Would Google not notice deindexed content being put on a new site or connect the two?

Content wise I think I can start by writing about news on the sites niche - if I was to start a second site.
