A single page micro niche site targeting a single keyword?

NOTE: I use the words 'blog post', 'post', and 'article' as being the same thing in this post.

To give you a better understanding I'll go back and use the sports car example analogy and then I'll nswer your questions. Let's say the keyword "Best Red Sports Car" gets 5,000 exact local searches a month. What I could do is buy the domain "bestredsportscar.com" and write the primary post targeting "Best Red Sports Car". I can than can write or outsource 10 - 20 other article based around 10 - 20 other low comp decent search volume keywords.

The above would give me a nice little micro niche site. I've done plenty of these. Here is what I would really like to do (or attempt as a case study or trial). I would like to buy the domain "bestredsportscar.com" (still an example) and create only one page. The index page of the domain. The main post targeting the primary keyword "Best Red Sports Car" will obviously be the home page (the index. file). Now, the purpose of this is the real kicker. The bread and butter. This single page will be more valuable than ALL of the other results ranking in the top 10 of Google. Not only that I want to spend TONS of time on this post. It will be full of quality content and universally useful (as best as possible) for all who read it. Not just an affiliate page linking to the top 5 best red sports cars and why I think they are the best. I plan to do lots of research and present an amazing post on each one of these 'single-page' sites. Something so useful that anyone who reads it can find it at east a small bit of use out of it while the vast majority can deff learn from and enjoy it. This obviously has it's benefits. A decent percentage of the people who read this article will share it on social media, share it with friends, share it over places like Reddit and similar. So this is moving away from authority websites and moving into the realm of Authority Pages, Authority Posts, or an Authoritative & Informative Resource Guides. However you'd like to view it. It makes link building campaigns will be 100X easier, all content is on the root domain, still a chance at ranking for nice long tail traffic if keyword research is done right and implemented into the post, etc, etc,. There are numerous ways this could be beneficial.

To answer all of your questions:

1.) Do I have affiliate links on the site? Yes. It is a website promoting an affiliate product(s) via affiliate links. Not garbage though. The idea is to be informative as possible and deliver the most valuable content. Also it is important to note that the site isn't based around any specific product or service. The most important thing is the quality of the article. I would add in an affiliate link where possible but it wouldn't be hard to integrate this. You just don't want the affiliate links or affiliate marketing to take away from the contents honesty and integrity.

domainarama - Why do you say forget about it if I do have affiliate links?

2.) SEOexpertSEO - I agree I will need more than one page based on what sort of 'single-page' site it is but that's not what I really mean. Rather, there is only one content page. One site per keyword. All those disclaimers and notices you linked can be either linked at the bottom of the page or included on the same page in modal or alerts. It would be very cosmetically speaking and not take u space. It is also highly efficient.
