Your question doesn't make any sense.

You need a webpage to rank in Google SERPs, a webpage has a URL, a URL needs a host.

See where I'm going with this?

Your name is too generic to be honest, I also do not know why you would want to rank for your name
You would need to have the URL: www.smithjohnson.something

      (Here are some options: https://www.123-reg.co.uk/order/doma...thjohnson&is=1)

And have lots of links pointing to your website with the anchor 'Smith Johnson', amongst other variations.
I doubt many people will be trying to rank for this, so it should be easy-ish.

Unless you are a famous person or you are well-known online, you probably would be wasting your time trying to rank for your name.

Yeah I'm confused on the whole name ranking thing myself, but I am going to assume it should just take some basic SEO. However you do need a domain? Unless you're trying to rank a free blog or something.
Which would be WAY more difficult.

    Cheers,
    Mark

I guess you're talking about Google authorship.... I've never used it personally as I don't want to leave obvious footprints with manipulating the SERPs, although I once considered creating many alias accounts... Just never got round to it and not sure if it is worth it since G's announcement to discontinue support as per: Author Photos are Gone: Does Google Authorship Still Have Value? - Moz

On that note I'm curious to hear what other warriors have to say on that and whether its worth the time and effort...

Ranking for names is difficult as many people could have similar names. It is good to have urls for ranking as urls are different from each other and helpful for getting long term benefits.

What's the point of having your name in a good position if you don't even have a website??? I even can't understand your idea.......

This is not true. To rank on search engines for Google, you need a custom URL which would help us rank better...
