Hello my friends,

I'm confused, it seems google love aged domain today, then if I register a new domain and build a new site, is it possible to rank and bit the aged sites who has already ranked top?

Or if it possiable, should I took a long term for the site's ranking? (Several months even years?)

Is it necessary to buy aged domain for ranking or just register the new one?

Any kindly friend could explain for me?

It's not aged domain per se, it aged backlinks.

You could have a 10 year old domain with no backlinks and it will rank no faster than a domain registered today.

It's the backlinks and trust/authority they represent as they age. Think about it logically, what does it say if your domain has lots of high quality links that have been live for years.

  • Depends on if the aged domain has any backlinks worth a damn. If not then you are better of starting a brand new domain.

  • backlinks are the real deal not the domain itself. aged domain with no backlinks is worthless

If you can get a relevant aged domain that has never been penalised and with a good link profile that is free of spam, your site will rank faster. If you can't, just register a new domain and focus on building backlinks while avoiding spam.

It is not a one word answer. You need to keep in mind a few things ..

First, aged domains usually have more authortiy; the more authority .. the better chance to rank

Second, If the domain has been penalized / blacklisted on Google ever .. the ranking would suck even though it is a 20 year old domain.

Third, the more safe back linking .. the better chances to rank. But still there are countless factors.

Suggestion: Google has more than 200 factors to which ranking depends. Domain authority, backlinks etc are among them. If ranking on Google is your primary concern, make sure the domain has not been penalized before you buy an old domain.

You are confused, but you should clear yourself about some facts.
Google really love aged domains, but not Spam domains, if a a domain is old 10 years, but penalized by google - is NOTHING. Vs the one with age of One month but have some Quality content and Quality baclinks indexed in Google.

When you go for an old domain, Check some important factors like trsut flow, citation etc.
and check it by placing the doman.com in google,. if it appears on the first place in google so it looks good in google but still you will need to check the backlinks it has, and its trust flow + citation etc.

Tools used: majesticseo, open site explorer etc.

Just be sure to do your homework.

Although it seems quite simple to pick up an aged domain you will find that the quality domains are usually bid up in auctions and sometimes it is hard to tell if the domain you are purchasing is going to really be worth the investment.

Be sure to use things like Ahref, Moz or Majestic to check things out or invest in something like SEO power suite to run some link analysis.

There are a lot of domains that come onto the market that have been abused by their owners and you don't research then be careful to not buy cot cases.

Google loves relevance so there can be value out there in expired domains but there is a price to pay both in time, knowledge and implementation or should I say application of the acquired domain.

If it is a business I would suggest going for a new domain and then working to rank that domain natural with assistance of course, but if you are building a network to direct ranking and traffic then expired or aged domains have their uses.

There is so much mis-information out there that you will need to test and see what works for you now. Be it building diverse back links, multiple real social back links and authority type links.

It doesn't matter whether the site is aged or not but it does matter what links are pointing at it and it does matter whether the sites doing the pointing are quality or not.

Sometimes it is better to start new build the right structure and use aged domains to point to the new site, coupled with diverse Web 2.0 links and PPC amongst other natural things a business would do to try to get a sale (usually paid traffic)
