Google WebM. Tools Warnings; Duplicate Title Tags

Hi everyone!

So for the first time I've started using Google Webmaster Tools and have just connected my wordpress.com blog.

When looking at "HTML Improvements" - I can see that my website has 20+ duplicate title tags, 80+ short meta descriptions and 15 duplicate meta descriptions.

First, please tell me is this an urgent problem I need to solve in order to possibly achieve higher rankings? I have no clue how important this is or isn't to SEO. Of course, I want to solve this whatever the case is but I want to know.

What does this mean? -> "Duplicate title tags" - does this mean for example, if I have 3 pages about cars and each page in its title has the keyword "cars" for example if I had these pages:
  1. New Cars
  2. Cars that are safe
  3. Cool cars today

Does that equal to duplicate title tags? Same question for posts.

If its not the title of the page/post, then where is this stuff? For example, I have a list of pages which contain duplicate title tags, the first page has 2 results:
  1. sitelink.com/pagelink
  2. sitelink.com/pagelink/comments-page-1

So having comments on a page means I have duplicate title tags? What should I do here?

Short meta descriptions (80+) - My website also registers for 80+ short meta description and most of these links are images on my site which are linked to the attachment page e.g. ‎/?attachment_id=99.

My post TAGS, are also included here, as being "short meta descriptions" - the tag, how can I influence a meta description of a tag I submit to each of my posts? What is to be done here?

Same stuff is registered for "duplicate meta descriptions" - Google shows the page link and then flags the comments page of that page, as a duplicate.

Please help me understand how to solve this issue, if it is one.

EDIT: Please take a look at this image, in the "Structured Data" tab, I'm showing 165 "items with errors", look at the data, what the heck are items with errors? How do I go about fixing this, this looks like every single indexed link of my website has an error. Why?

Sorry if I've went overboard with so many questions. :\

Thank you!

Duplicate Title Tag means you use same title tag in more than one page or post. Suppose you may use "New Car for Sale" as title tag two or there page or post. Just use unique title tag for each and every single page and post.

what drinstech is absolutely correct, you need to set unique title tags for each page in your site, else you are sending mixed signals to google and this can lead to distribution of link juice and low positions in SERPs.

Finally someone answered to this thread, thank you!

Ok that sounds fine, but I where do you edit title TAGS? Of course I didn't copy/paste page titles or page content, I don't understand what a title tag is, all I know I didn't ever intentionally use duplicate writing for any of my post and page titles...

Your title tag is the title of your posts/pages and you can edit them by editing the posts/pages of your site through your WordPress dashboard.

Duplicate title tags: Some pages/posts on your site have the same titles
Short meta descriptions: Your descriptions are too short. To edit your meta descriptions, install 'all in one SEO pack' plugin and go to the edit page of the posts/pages whose meta descriptions you want to edit.
Duplicate meta descriptions: Pretty self-explanatory based on the explanation above.

I generally ignore these warnings though.

Well, thanks for the explanation but I'm running this site on wordpress.com (no hosting) so I can't access plugins. Also I've got 8 pages on the site and I'm pretty sure there aren't any with the same title.

Yeah I'm kinda ignoring it as well
