Does google penalise adsense sites in search engines?

Does anyone know. I have several sites which I have running adsense, I am sure they are suffering in the search engines. Any one have any experience/views on this?

It would tend to be counterproductive for them to penalize sites that run their own advertising program.

If the sites aren't ranking well, I doubt it has anything to do with AdSense.

There is no relation between adsense and search engine ranking. There might be some other case which might drop ranking in SE's.
