If we have a blog on our site and link out to sources to verify information we post does it matter if they are nofollow or should it not matter either way - such as when linking to authority sites, etc?

Thanks

There is no reason to put a nofollow tag on those sort of links.

If the sites are from the same niche of your business then you can do link without worries because they are not going to ask you to remove the links anytime in the future.

I agree with the replies above.

I would leave them as DoFollow. The reason is because that would actually alert the other sites about that backlink. I have seen people use this as a strategy to get free traffic to their blog.

If you have a WordPress Blog Site - you can actually see what other WP Blog Sites are linking back to you. You see this as a Pingback in your WP Dashboard.

This same thing happens when you link to other WP Blog Sites. They will see your Pingback and might end up going to your blog site. So, you can get traffic this way for sure.

    I hope this helps!

    Keep up the great work!!

I wish you the best of the best!

    Cheers!

Nofollow does not give you any link juice. It is only mean to be traffic driving backlinks.. People click on that and get to your site... That's all...

I would leave them the way they are so they can pass link juice to the authority sites. But whenever I want to include many links in a post, I usually nofollow some of them. Not that it makes any difference, it's just my preference.

Why in the world would you "nofollow some of them"? It doesn't help you to do that.

There's no need to be no following links when you are linking out to quality sites with authority.
