Google rank vs Alexa rank

which one is more profitable. Suppose if I want to buy a domain should I buy domain with high Alexa rank or PR .

Some site I show without Alexa rank with 3 PR what does that mean.

Please clarify the concept of it.

    Neither Google, nor Alexa, are going to purchase anything from you. They will not click your ads. They will not sign up to your list. Neither of them are "Profitable".

    When push comes to shove, neither of them should have any weight when it comes to determining the value of a website.

    Google PR & Alexa Ranking are two different way determine your website performance.

    Google Page Rank is a ranl from 0 to 10. It is way Google observe a website. It is mostly dependent upon how many quality backlinks the website

    Alexa is a web directory and provide the free traffic metrics, search analytics, demographics and more. Alexa Ranking depends upon how many visitors you get daily.

    Alexa rank it's depend on your website traffic and Google PR it's depend on your website Backlink (Google Considered High PR Backlinks)

    There are better metrics to look for instead of alexa. PR is one of them, but it may simply not be correct as it does not get updated anymore.

    Alexa ranking is a useless metrics that only shows ranking based on the traffic it's receiving while Google ranking is about where your keywords are ranked for your terms.

    I wouldn't even dream of looking at Alexa ranking when buying domain. Besides, it can be manipulated.

    If google pr is genuine and the domain has been receiving traffic, it will have higher alexa rank. But they are both unreliable metrics for expired domains.

      That makes no sense.

      I don't visit boxofficemojo to find out about a movie.
      I don't visit zap2it ratings to find out about a TV show or station.
      I don't look at the Dow Jones to get info on a stock.

      If I wanted to know what website had the most traffic, I'd
      either go to alexa, or google it and let google take me to alexa.

      Your logic makes no sense. But I digress.

      Traffic and profitability are not the same.

      Stats, info, questions, answers, etc. are all valid searches done
      by millions everyday. They require different websites.

      Alexa is similar to estimating how many fish are in a lake.

      It does not tell you the fish are easy to catch, or what fish people
      are fishing for. That's what google does.

    Google is not updating PR, Then Alexa is updating their rank as frequently.
    Then how can we decide a website is a quality site or not?

    Yes Google isn't increasing PR but it means isn't alexa is better than Google PR ! A website quality always check by website back links, website traffic & website visibility ! Google takes time to update PR !

    You can say neither of the ways are profitable. Alexa is only free traffic measure for the users who have installed their toolbar that is called alexa toolbar. You can not compare it with Google PR. For google PR it is also no longer to analyze the traffic quantity. But yes Google PR at least gives an idea that how google sees this site in respect of quality measures.

    If you have concrete choices in between two then I will say that you should go with Higher Google PR. Though it will not give you the real states about the website traffic but you can be will listed in good book of Google with slightly more improvements.

      Alexa rank is totally different from Page Rank. Alexa is a separate directory which show you the details like traffic, backlinks and overall rank status of your website when the user install Alexa toolbar. Page Rank depends on quality of backlinks. If your website is getting a backlink from a high quality and authority site then you will be awarded with page rank by google when they roll out their pagerank update.

    Alexa ranking and Google page rank are completely two different things.. For a good website you need to have high PR(Google pagerank) and should have low alexa rank. Alexa ranks are calculated by how many visitors your site is getting. Alexa rank varies daily, if your website gets more traffic alexa rank decreases drastically.

      Alexa Rank just give you an idea about your daily visitors & your site position worldwide.


      But In the sense if profitability You need traffic who are interested your site or product or service.
