How to beat FB profile page in serp?

My seo skills are minimal but I am learning everyday.
So my wife's website is currently ranked #2 when the search is photography city, state. The #1 serp is someone's photography business profile page from facebook. I downloaded seo spyglass and the competitors page has no direct backlinks to it but the tld is facebook.com so I think that's whats really making it rank. Anybody fight this same battle before and won? Care to share some tips to overtake.

My wife's website is only 4 months old and when I first saw it in serp it was #27 so I am definitely stoked about the progress so far but #1 seems so much better than #2. I'm still tweaking on site seo and am struggling getting external links.

Thanks for any help.

Build a Facebook Ad campaign (~ 25 - 50USD) to people from the main competitor area. The purpose would be to get likes and shares (for your website) from people that are living in the area (by cities/regions and interests) of your main competitor. So, try to setup your ad accordingly to these criterias. Is very possible to become number 1 in just a few weeks (if the Fb ad is targeted in the right way, to get results that can be indexed by main search engines).

My wife does all the stuff on her business Facebook page. Would running a Facebook campaign make her website or her fb page rank higher. I'm more so interested in ranking the website.
I should also mention that Google has a 7 pack for the local results. So the serp looks like #1, #2, then the 7 pack. We currently bounce between 4 and 5 in the 7 pack. Does moving up in local 7 pack help rank the Web page any better?

That will not impact rankings. Totally useless for that.

Yes, improving rankings in the 7 pack generally helps organic rankings.

Who says? You and other old & outdated SEO experts?

Any social backlink (from Facebook public profiles in that case) has a real value because these backlinks can be checked by search engines to be generated by real people (these are created by people that have a greater or lower authority in relationship with other Fb profiles).

The old fashion backlinks (even dofollow) that are not endorsed by real humans are useless, usually spammy backlinks.

Make a viral on Fb, Twitter or G+, and in just a few days the viral (original backlink) will be in 1st page of Google. Guess why?

    a. Copy all the competitors copy into Word. Count the words.
    b. Take that number of words and add 400 words on top of original content.
    c. Write four additional pages on subtopics and link all the pages using anchor text. Each page should contain circa 600 words of quality content.

Include the keyword in the title tag/h1/the url after the domain.

BTW if you're number 2, work on optimizing the title tag and meta description for a better CTR, this will likely help more than just moving up a spot. My above advise is more for moving a site from page 3 or 4 to page 1.

Thank you for the replies. I am almost finished with my on page seo but I will double check everything. I also optimized my images on the page. A lot of them were between 2 and 3 mb and now they're all under 300 kb. Because the site is a portfolio of pictures the site will never be super fast. However by doing the pic optimization and minifyng html, my pagespeed insight score went from 30 to 62. I know page speed will be minimum impact on serp but it will definitely help the customer bounce rate because the page loads a lot quicker.

That is still really low. Is that the mobile or desktop pagespeed score?

For the On-Page SEO, follow the YOAST plugin.

Only thing you should ignore is the Keyword density. Yoast asks for too much there. With a 500-700 article, you just need to mention your keyword 3-4 times.

48 for mobile score and 60 for desktop score through pagespeed insights. Between the slider and static homepage photos there's probably 16 or so high quality photos.
Side note/question: there's a forum that we joined recently about photography for legitimate purposes trying to learn. They have dofollow links in people's signatures. Is it a bad thing to get a link every time you post on there especially if we become very active members?

Just to clear. I'm not interested in ranking my Facebook page. There's currently a competitors fb page ranking #1 when the search is photography city state. My website is #2 and want to takeover the #1 spot. My wife is very active on her Facebook page but I just wanted to be clear on what I want. .
    thank you

Don't worry. It's not you. It is very clear what you want. The problem is that most of the people in this section of the forum are idiots just trying to get their post count up and/or their signature seen. They rarely even read the OP and just write some nonsense.

      Case in point...

Oddly enough today when I checked rankings for the page I went down to #5. This is directly after optimizing images ie making them 1/20 of original size and adding alt image tags.
    Is bouncing around normal?
