Local SEO vs National SEO

Could someone shed some light for me onto why I rank in the top 3 for my keywords in my town/state but not even in the top 30 outside of my area. I'm in Australia.

Hi, Because it's all dependent on the competitions for that keyword try to submit your links Outside countries classifieds sites, Business directories and many which related to that country it may help u...

Hi Melb,

Before i give you some suggestion , i would like to know how old is your website, what are the keywords you are targeting and what type of promotional activities are you doing.

In my point of view, i used to take long tail keyword ( even if my website is new or old ) and then i used to start targeting authority websites for my promotions.

Collect websites list other than your local area/country. Start submitting directory, guest and article posts, creating profile for your websites, blog comments, social media sharing, classifieds and participate in discussion boards.

Note: DO some research by selecting the websites for your promotion. Also, don't be in a hurry in building backlinks for your websites which tends to end up in negative results
