Is there any adverse effect on SEO if I install wordpress in a folder(i.e not in root)

I don't want all of the WordPress files cluttering up root directory. So I googled and found that there are many ways to install WP in it's own folder and to have website served from the website root. However I am unaware of any adverse effect on search engine ranking.

    Your question makes no sense.

The folder will be in your root directory.

WP will install numerous folders of its own.

What will be outside this folder? Nothing?
    That would make little sense.

If you mean a separate blog, of course it will be in its own folder.

But to not want files cluttering up the root directory is kinda crazy
    and makes no sense.

If you mean the entire site will run out of the WP folder, that is easy,
if your settings are right, but that makes no practical sense. You will then have
what you call, a very cluttered folder, residing in your root.

    Makes no SEO difference.

    Hi Paul,

Giving WordPress Its Own Directory « WordPress Codex

The above link gives information on how to set up WP on it's own directory. i.e non root directory

What I am trying to do is installing WP in a sub-folder instead of root. (i.e Installing WP in www.mysite.com/WP rather then www.mysite.com). The above link shows how to do that.
The user has to go to www.mysite.com and website will load normally however all the files and folders will stay in www.mysite.com/WP.

This can be achieved using redirect or .htaccess or coping index.php

Lastley I am not pointing towards separate blog.

So will this affect search engine ranking? Don't you think search engine crawler will index www.mysite.com/WP rather then www.mysite.com? Don't you think crawler will get biased information?
