Your strongest backlinks to rank high?

Good Day Warriors,

I am wondering if anyone had experienced huge ranking benefits from single high potent backlinks.

I know it is a difficult question because it is hard to track which backlink has influenced the SERP rankings the most.

However, maybe some Warriors have experienced a huge benefit in rankings after achieving some specific power backlink(s) recently.

If so, please share a bit of your experience by explaining how this backlink(s) were special and how they were different from others.

Please only examples from the last 2 years (2013+).

I m interested to see if anyone can give a solid answer to this thread.

    I have seen the live example of drastic ranking improvement after getting backlink from high autority website. Due to forum restrictions I am not able to share an example with you. But, I would like to mention that I have got backlink from authority website named as "Inhabitat [dot] com" and I have drastic improvement in the keyword ranking of my website.

    From what I understand, if a high page-rank website links to you it will provide major SEO juice. You could have 100's of smaller websites link to you, but one big link from a high PR site will do more.

    @Life Naturally: I have similar beliefs, this is why I started this thread. We re looking for real life examples. Trying to figure out if they have something in common.

    I got one link from the homepage of a high PR site having a Trust Flow and Citation Flow of 50+ and a PR of 5. That single link moved my site up several pages for a low competition keyword. One high authority link can do more than many low quality links.

    dude go onto godaddy fixed priced domain sale, pay $400 for a PR4 domain and point it to your site. In fact buy four of them.

    @paulch65: I have couple of hundred backlinks from wikipedia.org, why should I buy this small stuff?

    I m looking for other smart people with hands on experience to share ideas here.

    Please someone post his own experience, rather than theoretical advice, thanks.

      P.S you asked the question about high quality links and the practice of buying high authority domains and links gives you the overwhelming answer. Meanwhile wikipedia is nofollow.dude. Perhaps some benefit but not the same as followed links.

      i feel that getting backlinks from .gov, .org. .edu is very important.. however i got backlinks from wikipedia.org. simple go there edit the article keep some extra text and get backlinks from pr 4 and 3

      Just get out and practice and be willing to spend some cash on this.Even if it's just $50 on some PR2 domains, go by em and point them at your properties on an intermediary domain. You see a lot of this on the main board with people paying for PPV traffic. They come back with some value to add to the discussion.

          No not 301 ---- this isn't something that'll work.

          You just need to re-create the site.

          Top not so important, if you make the topic around what you want post purchase.

          BTW, try to buy unexpired domains. Google can zap a domain once it's de-registered if you don't act fast.

          Google "last updated 2009" and buy something that's not expired if poss.

            What do you mean with this?

            Recreating the site (with content from web archive) would mean to violate the copyrights of the previous owners.

            For me that is no good idea or technique. And btw why do you believe that 301 redirect is not the best option?

            Any insights into this?

            In my experience the 301 was always the better, easier, faster, safer and more reliable method.
