Is this considered Over Optimization?

Hey SEO Experts,

Lately I've been concerned about over optimization as I believe it could be the reason some of my efforts didn't rank well when similar efforts that weren't as optimized did.

So I'm wondering...

Would would it be considered over optimization if you have an Exact Match domain name and you use the same keywords as a title of one of your posts? Ex: bluewidgets.com/blue-widgets

Would it be possible the post would outrank the homepage?

I want the home page to rank first like natural and I'm using wordpress w/ snippets on the home page.

Thanks!

It could be possible. However, if you have more links pointing to your domain than your post, the site would rank first and then the post. But there are a lot of other different factors too - I mean on page factors.

Thanks, I see there was a discussion about this here:

I think I will just add some extra words to the title/slug so it's not the same exact keywords as the URL.
