I am trying to rank higher on search engines...

Does the Domain name matters when you are trying to rank higher on search engines for an specific keyword?

Example...

Keyword: widgets

Domains: widgets.com, widgets.org, widgets.com.co , widgets.mydomain.biz

It's called an EMD (Exact Match Domain).

No, it doesn't matter for ranking pages.

yukon, do you have any places that you can point us for more resources regarding EMD?

I always start with .com and and extend my search with .net .org .info, many times I ignore the 'name' because .net .org .info is not available?

You say is not relevant if the content is the same (redirection)?

What about name.com sell goods, and name.info promote the goods, with blog, tutorial, etc.. ?

      Thanks

Sure, Google SERPs, there's plenty of EMDs that don't rank.

My domain name is tu .biz

Ranking likely last on the keyword "tu"

I never build any backlinks to it, but I am getting tired of not ranking..... thinking about a backlink program for a few of my Exact Name Domains that don't rank for any of the keywords.... very frustrating.
