Hello,

Recently I've noticed a surge in strange links that show directing traffic to my websites. This is cPanel's Awstats.

What's incomprehensible is that all these websites have no actual backlink of mine on them. (I've attached a screen shot). These websites also dont show a backlink directing to my website on search engines and also dont show up in Google Webmaster Tools or when I use backlink checkers.

Another issue that disturbs me is that Google Analytics show traffic from Russia however my cPanel states dont show significant traffic from Russia.

I'm confused at to what's going on?

Would appreciate your input.

Traffic cannot harm your site SEO-wise, so ignore.

If the sites driving traffic to your website has none of your backlinks in them how come do people get to your site?

Well, since you say traffic and not STRANGE backlinks, just relax and watch. I know you're really perturbed. Just wait and see what happens next.

Hard to tell from the screenshot but I would say its referrer spam.

Despite the fact none of us can see the image you posted,
even with binoculars! (lol - Yukon )

sounds like what you are describing is referer spam.
Don't click on the links (that's what they want you to do)

either ignore them or block their IP's with you .htacess file or a security plug-in,

You can bulk check IP's with this useful tool:
