How Can I Drive Local Traffic to My Blog

Hello Fellow Members,

I need an advice and tips on how to drive local traffic to my blog. I have a Micro Niche Blog that targets Nigerian audience, the topic I blog on is currently hot in Nigeria and I have been adding contents consistently for the past 5 months. However, the amount of traffic I'm getting is not quite impressive, so also is my adsense earnings.

Also, I've not gotten the SEO right. My blog is not ranking for its primary keyword, is there anything I'm doing wrong in this aspect too?

Please kindly give me useful traffic generation tips and how to rank my site high on Google and other search engines. Other advices on how to make the blog super awesome will also be welcomed (i.e The content, Design & Layout, etc)

    Properly formulate the meta tag and share your blog on social media sites like- Facebook, Pinterest and Google+

    Try to do some GEO specific SEO like local directory submission, local listings etc. Social media is a great way to reach the mass so you can utilize the potentials of social media sites. Try to include keywords in content and also do proper interlinking.

    See that you include proper or relevant title and meta description for your blog, the next step is to share it with as many as social media sites possible. You an also try using it for guest posting.

    You have only 40 posts on your blog. Do you expect to have huge traffic with just 40 posts? To build high traffic blog you need to add more content on regular basis. Apart from content you need to do some promotion of the blog. Why not join a nigerian marketing or wholesale forum and start contributing. You can add your blog in your signature and your will get:
    1. Targeted traffic
    2. Quality,relevant backlinks.

    Used local forums and classifieds site to get local backlinks. When you get local backlinks, your blog receive local traffic.
