Nope, Google Won't update Page Rank, It's officially Dead.

Google's John Mueller said Google probably won't update Toolbar PageRank in the future.

Last update was in December 2013 if I remember correctly.

Toolbar PR is always delayed so the last accurate PR is from September 2013 so almost 1.5 years old by now.

I just analyzed a domain which had a link from Forbes placed in April 2014, Ahrefs showed it as the strongest link while the toolbar PR shows it as PR n/a, if I have to make some wild guess I think that link will be in the range of PR3-PR4 if PR was still updated.

The basic reason behind now updating the PR for websites is that, it was considered to be one of the biggest factor for web page quality and because of which, it become the business for sellers of backlinks and as Google is looking forward to eliminate all the points that can lead to link spam, PR factor is been discontinued.

The toolbar is not delayed. It's never going to be updated again.

But PR is updated on a daily basis for google's internal use.

Anyone above who says PR is dead, is just not playing with a full SEO deck.

Interesting I haven't heard about this and I do try and keep up on things, does that mean a new site will never have a page rank and a site with a PR of lets say 2 will never become a 3 or a 4 or on up.

Around 1 year ago, but now i don't care about PR more

I think if google don't update PR anymore, they need to have an announcement or remove PR toolbar.

Next time read a few topics here or in Google before starting such threads! There are maybe THOUSANDS of online sources that there won't be more PR update!

If you want your domain to reflect a higher PR in PR checkers so you can get more link sales, stop trying because it is impossible. The best thing you can do is purchase domains that already have the PR you want and launch more blogs on them so you can sell more links.

If PageRank is declared dead than what are other ways to find a websites authenticity and strength, I mean not our own website but other websites related to competitor, research, linkbuilding, ad swaping, blog writing etc.

Ente the MOZ bar and PA and DA will become your new mates

But seriously you should consider changing your business model altogether. NOt only are you subject to the possibility of being found out and terminated by Google Assasin Androids ( The car was jus a starter experiment, they do terminators now) but there are better income sources.

If you are capable of crating a number of blogs that can get the equivalent of PR4 you definitely have better monetizing sources than link selling.

      Hope this helps.

Or Ahrefs and Majestic if you're trying to develop sites. I agree that Moz is good for link sellers because the stats are easy to fake.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
