What is Ahrefs Rank?
In simple terms, this metric is Ahrefs equivalent of PageRank (PR). Every page has this rank assigned to them by Ahrefs, it is calculated by the number of DoFollow links pointing at a page.

My thoughts
To me it seems MozRank is just like PA and DA, mostly a cumulative metric or at least it can very easily be fooled by the quantity of links. Therefor it's utterly useless on it's own to determine the true strength of a domain, at best it can be used to confirm the strength of a domain once you have other metrics available.
Majestic's Trustflow is as they say Trust Flow / Citation Flow, this doesn't seem to be much of a strength indicator but more so a reliability indicator so that you don't end up with a domain with tons of spammy links, as high CF and low TF equals a very spammy backlink profile, so when you use it always do TF/CF, odd they don't provide the number as such their selves as that would take away some confusion. A high TF and a low CF equals a domain with legit links, but they don't say much about the strength of such links as it could all be based on the actual root domain trust instead of page trust. Also no mention about internal links having an effect on the TF and CF
Ahrefs Rank, I find the Ahrefs Domain Rank not that reliable to be honest, I can easily push a domain to Ahrefs Domain Rank 40+ with a dozen or less links as it seems to be a cumulative of all pages and performed in a wrong way. However the URL Ahrefs rank seems to be a lot more reliable. I just analyzed a domain with a links from Forbes, which was PR n/a (but PR is outdated) and the link was placed in April 2014. Ahrefs URL rank is 17, which is quite high. and higher then some of the PR3 and PR5 links that domain has.
How to calculate strenght of a domain based on this
Step 1: Prefilter on the Majestic TF/CF formula, >1 good to go
Step 2: Prefilter on Ahrefs Domain Rank 40+
Step 3: Analyze the actual links, aim for at least Ahrefs URL rank 12+ for a decent amount of links
Step 4: Confirm the strength of the domain using MozRank3+ and MozTrust3+ and DA20+
Now you're on to something and don't end up buying some spammed or weak domain.
I'd spend $50-$100 on domains with such metrics.
For domains over $200,- I expect at least:
- TF/CF > 1
- Ahrefs Domain Rank > 47
- Good number of Ahrefs URL rank 15+ and some URL rank 20+
- MozRank 4+, MozTrust 4+, DA30+, PA35+
- # of Referring Domains 50+
As you can see I give zero value to the actual TF or CF numbers, for the simple reason that they are absurd unreliable, only the calculation ratio matters to me. Yes I've seen domains with TF30+ that had a handful of weak links which makes me think it's somewhat buggy.
