Your site speed could also the problem. Try to use cache plugin. Or if that still not make any improvement then change your website template or theme and use seo friendly themes (with the right page structure such as headings, links, etc), the different can be significant.

You don't have any strong backlinks pointing to your website. Directory submissions and social bookmarks are complete junk.

Why are you hosting the xml sitemap files on another domain?

You've made 301 redirects, but you didn't correct the URLs on the live webpages with live links pointing to the dead webpages.

Example, this page (URL 1) still includes a link to a page that doesn't exist (URL 2). Sure the 301 redirects but it's very sloppy on-page.

That example doesn't even redirect to the correct page.

Run Screaming Frog on the site, sort by 301s & cleanup all the dead links (In Links) on the live webpages. Double check & correct the 301 redirects so they all point to the correct URLs.

Size doesn't matter. Most of your competitors are doing fine with about 5 pages (including home).

Social bookmarks and directories are certainly not helping. Most social junk is nofollow anyway, which won't improve your rank any, and directories can be toxic links if it's a junk directory.

Are those stats "good" stats or are those with Russian hacker/spammer sessions? I dont know your keyword volume across the ~10 keywords it appears you are targetting, but the main "carpet cleaning virginia beach" was something like ~500/mo. Assuming that average across all keywords (at least doubt many of them are much higher than that)...you're probably not doing too bad off if those analytics stats are from Virginia based searchers considering you're on page 2.


I think your site speed is TERRIBLE. Change your theme back to something basic and run the speed tests again and see how it improves. If it's drastic - then it's your theme that is the problem. That alone may not be what rockets you from page 2 to page 1, but it can't hurt.

Personally, your header rows then logo then full screen ginormous images leave little to be desired. Don't know how you get a 2:58 session duration on a 69% bounce rate, but I'm guessing visitors look at your page and they don't see anything USEFUL without scrolling and back out. Do some further research on your analytics and see if you can find out where people are coming in from, where they're landing, and where they're going to move from page to page.

Also make sure those analytics stats don't include YOU hanging out on your site for an hour at a time.

So aside from it looking fairly busy, you're leaving a lot of good content way down below the fold in junk town that people aren't going to see.

I don't see the point for the header + centered image + slider. You're losing prime screen real estate space for pretty pictures and logos.

Your theme is also missing an H1 tag for your main page. Again, that alone isn't going to magically fix your ranking, but not having one isn't helping your cause any.

Someone with better over-optimization experience might be able to chime in, but that putting "<keyword> Virginia Beach" in every link on the homepage just looks like you're trying to battle the search engines. I don't know personally if all that extra "Virginia Beach" stuff will get you caught in a non-WMT advertised penalty -- but it looks like crap.

Get a theme or a plugin that will (or just use an HTML widget) get schema data set up for your address fields.

Might be good to invest a little bit in some SEO services from someone on this forum.

You might want to research/spy the backlinks of the site owner that has the number one spot and see if you can apply for some similar backlinks. Especially if they are "DoFollow" backlinks. Those are vital.

I think you need to review your seo again from some other guy as it will help you a lot. Also, analyzing your website for keywords which you are targeting with content in the website. I would suggest you to include targeted keywords in social media netowrks such as Facebook, Google Plus, Pinterest and others.

Also, focus on blogs...because SEO is more about quality content for your users than Google.
