On Page SEO more important than PA and DA?

I am developing a domain that is an EMD for a very competitive keyword.
The first page results are all DA 60+ , however 3 of them are Grade F for on page SEO using MOZ Page Grade for url vs. KW
Does this mean that with great on page SEO, I do have a chance to beat these?

The problem is that with all keywords, even long tail ones, everything is owned by high DA for first page.

You're probably asking why choose this KW then? Yes, I am a part time domainer, and this domain was an EMD .com for 2 keywords, and its extremely great domain that I wasnt able (yet) to sell it stand alone so we decided to develop it instead and maybe get some cash from affiliation down the road.

Kindly, advise. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks..

    DA & PA are gimmicks.

Look at the competition internal/external link profiles.

You need both links and on page so I wouldn't put them up against each other. DA and PA are measurements of link strength which can be iportnant. You can disregard Yukon's claim that its a made up number. He has a history of hating all thing Moz for years now and isn't rational about it.

It's not hate, it's eliminating fluff. DA/PA do not rank pages, they're easy to skew.

Links rank pages, looking at link profiles eliminates guessing (homemade metrics).

Anything can be skewed. Pagerqank was often faked

and when you look at the links what do they say? Do they say they see dead people? looking at link profiles without reference to any metric tells you nada. If your answer is pagerank thats already a year and half out of date so its big time guessing.

I think links are more important to rank any websites. You need diverse links from high quality domains and or pages with high relevance value to your own website. How do we measure this "high quality domains and or pages"? This is the PA DA comes in handy.

So focusing on building links to your domain or pages and don't think about that PA DA thing too much. They will have they part later.

OP sent me the domain name, it's a tough two word health niche keyword (OP has the EMD).

    Currently ranked competition:
    1. {keyword}.va.gov
    2. mayoclinic.org
    3. webmd.com
    4. etc...

OP, without a doubt, that's tough competition. I don't even have to look at any metrics or links.

The site has 3 pages indexed but they redirect to a parked page on another domain (domain seller). Only a matter of time before Google deindexes the 3 pages when they try to reindex. No cache on the 3 pages.

Defiantly not ranking in two months with only on-page & no external links.

    [edit]
Wayback shows a very plain legit site between 2002 -2005 but there's literally zero backlinks on ahrefs for OPs domain.

OP, the domain on it's own would be a hard sell since there's no existing link profile. You do have a couple of things going for you, it's an EMD (some buyers look for those) & there's no junk link profile which is rare for a two word health niche EMD domain that's for sale. No links is better than junk links but no links doesn't rank pages (catch-22).

Hopefully never will rank. I 'm sorry (not really) but I am of the opinion there are some things marketers should just stay out of and medical serps is one of them.

There are all kinds of other niches to make money in. Leave medicine and health tips to professionals
