Website not showing up in search results?

So I've done the following:

- Created a few pages all of which have targeted keywords in their name and URL
- URLs are clean (eg: page-name-here)
- Each page has keywords in them as well as anchor links pointing to the website
- Sitemap generated using Google XML Sitemaps
- Sitemap submitted to Google Webmaster Tools
- Social media profiles linking back to the website created on facebook, twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn.
- Started posting a bunch of tweets with links to the website on Twitter

so uhmm.... when exactly will my website start being indexed and show up in the search results?

The only time I see my website is when I search for "aura marketing" on google.ca and the contact page shows up towards the bottom of the results.

Am I missing anything? Do I need more backlinks from other high PR blogs/sites?

According to the guy who owns the website, uhmm...November of last year? According to whois.net: Creation date: 2014/11/13

How can I get a relatively new domain to show up in the results against any competing domains that have existing for perhaps a year?

Agree! Working to make your site visible in the rank page is never that easy. It even cannot be worked overtime. It means, it will take some time. Just be patient and keep your website always updated and do more efforts on SEO strategies.

According to MOZ, there are no page links or back links....only social media activity.

According to ahrefs.com, there are 5 backlinks and 2 referring domains. lol most of the backlinks are from warriorforum and are nofollow links. The other backlinks/referring domain is from some weird videokeeping.com site. Don't I want more "follow" backlinks than "nofollow" links?

I think that's normal. I have the same situation on my own project. You will increase your visibility when you work on your links.

to compare: I rank on page 2 with my own trademark

I think you need to target some important keywords for which you need your site to be ranked. Back Links from the other good websites relevant to your niche will definitely be helpful.

Backlinks from social media doesn't count as "dofollow"? I couldn't find any backlinks from any social media profiles on MOZ or ahrefs...

Looks like your confusing indexing with ranking.

Last I saw, there were no errors in Google Webmaster Tools and I checked last night.

Out of curiosity, when it comes to high ranking websites, what is the weekly/monthly strategy for SEO? what do seo consultants/specialists do every week? eg: 1st week....focus on articles, 2nd week....focus on guest postings, 3rd week....focus on on-page errors, etc etc.

what tool do people use to figure out what external forums/blogs they should post their site's link on?

  • First of all 5 backlinks is no where enough for you to get a good ranking and second sometimes it can take up to 4 or 5 months for your hard work to start showing up in search results. Are you looking in your Google Webmaster tools to see how many backlinks you have? Do not use directories or server farms for backlinks as that will hurt your ranking. Do you have keywords in your page title, HI, H2 and H3 tags as well as image ALT tags? Put your most important keywords in the first sentence of the first paragraph. Try to have at least 200 to 300 words of text on your page with keyword density no more than 5%. Watch this video for more information

If you have your website or offer page already prepared (able to sell and deliver), you have to:

    1. get traffic / visits / views

    2. get backlinks

    3. all the while doing reverse-engineering (trying to emulate what the top-websites-in-your-niche or top-websites-showing-for-your-desired-keywords have been doing).. do some more and probably do some things better
