Search websites on google of your niche and contact them to post your article and also you can join blog communities to post your article their to get traffic.

For the Blog Posting Niche should be important as well and blogger and wordpress should be the standard blog posting sites.but main important thing for the traffic is you content as said "Content is King"

Well, the best place to share your blog post is over the social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN ... etc ! Best way to start is like create a new page over the social media joins some groups to promote yourself and start sharing all of your blog post over to their and once you'll start getting enough attention over the social media you will start getting traffic over your your blog !

Way too broad of a question... Targeted traffic > random crap traffic from sites like stumbledupon.

Your best bet are Social Media sites. Create a Facebook fanpage, a Twitter account and share your blogposts when you add new content to your website Just do NOT spam!

In general, any social media platform will work for sharing content. Depending on your niche, you might be more successful with particular ones.

In some niches, there are specific social platforms that can bring tons of traffic to your content if it gets noticed. In SEO niche, that would be inbound.org.

In any case, start with developing you profile and building a following. This way the posts you share will get more attention.

  I do quite well sharing in the discussion section in BlogCatalog. They also have a paid service (VIB) which allows you to share it directly with any of the Friends you have acquired on the website.
  
  However please keep in mind if it is a sales pitch type of blog this will not go over well on BC. If that is the case, best go elsewhere.
  
  BTW, one place you can share it is right here simply by putting a link in your signature.
  
  Commenting on other blogs with a URL in your name works well also.

Given the fact that social media platforms are a big help when it comes to generating traffic, you can also try joining on blog communities relevant to your niche. In this way, you can get a good amount of traffic and be able to build an online reputation.

Guest posting is a good way to share your articles. Contact blogs in your niche and ask if you can guest post. Many will gladly allow you to do this.
Social media is also a powerful tool, so do share your articles on social media websites as well!

It depends on what kind of article your writing but social medias like FACEBOOK or BLOGGERSPOT.

Just google "list of (social media sites, etc.)" and go down the list. The more the merrier, if you really want to rank for good keywords, it'll take more than just a couple sites.

Don't forget that if you search for lists, to use the google search tools to only find articles that are not very old. There are now tons of out of date old articles still ranking, but with bad information.

You can get lots of traffic from reddit. I get around 20% of my traffic from reddit. Forums are also another good option... Niche related of course
