Thoughts on article submission

Ive been responsible for promoting many sites up the ranks over they years and lately, although still using the traditional methods, am seeing more and more about abandoning article submission.

What are your thoughts fellow warriors? If it is still a good practice what are the best PR sites you would suggest.

    I think article directories can still be helpful, but there are definitely things that can send more authority (like citation links)... Directory submission just isn't the same as it once was.. You want to make sure your articles are unique or highly spun and you certainly don't wanna go submitting hundreds or thousands of them in one day like people used to do.

    Article submission is still helpful if you have good quality contents, which is unique from all other articles, if your article more interesting and unique people will automatically show interest to read that. So you can use them to get more visitors to your website.

    Well, I don't think that there's is further use of the article posting ! As, I am sure you have already heard from the sources that article posting articles over article directories to gain backlinks is considered as Spam means it's not really going to help you. So, I would say instead of thinking again about the article posting I think you should start considering blog posting over your blog and then using the power of the social media to attract audience attention.

    As a means to improve SEO, article directories are a complete waste of time and have been for a couple of years. However, publishing a useful article on an article directory site that has traffic relevant to your site has value in that it can be a source of referral traffic.

    Take Wikipedia for example, no link there will increase your rankings but it will send a flood of traffic to your site continuously. The key is to obtain links in places that:

    a. Have traffic
    b. The audience is relevant to your site
