From an SEO standpoint I realize URL structure isn't very important anymore, but I'm a little torn deciding how to format the URLs for my new site and have to make a decision before launching it.

I'm currently trying to decide between four different formats:

Code:
http://www.pricewombat.com/forum/4/deal-talk
http://www.pricewombat.com/forum/4-deal-talk
http://www.pricewombat.com/f/4/deal-talk
http://www.pricewombat.com/f/4-deal-talk

http://www.pricewombat.com/t/3/yet-another-test-topic#c44
http://www.pricewombat.com/t/3-yet-another-test-topic#c44

http://www.pricewombat.com/deal/2/JetBrains-Software-Free-for-Students
http://www.pricewombat.com/deal/2-JetBrains-Software-Free-for-Students
http://www.pricewombat.com/d/2/JetBrains-Software-Free-for-Students
http://www.pricewombat.com/d/2-JetBrains-Software-Free-for-Students

http://www.pricewombat.com/product/203602/Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force
http://www.pricewombat.com/product/203602-Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force
http://www.pricewombat.com/p/203602/Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force
http://www.pricewombat.com/p/203602-Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force
Which of those do you like the best?

This is the one I like best I will tell you why because the words are at the end and that is most likely the search phrase that will give you traffic. It may not "matter much" anymore but it still matters a bit so keep that in mind. Every bit of push in the search engines that you are going to get helps so there is my opinion. Keep up the search for knowledge.

I think url structures still matter, maybe not a lot, but they still can either help or ruin your website (SEO wise).
IMO, short and precise is what you should go for, so basically I'm on the same page with TeKn1qu3z.

My vote would go with this one first:
    http://www.pricewombat.com/deal/2/Je...e-for-Students

    Or, this one second:
    http://www.pricewombat.com/product/2...each-Ear-Force

If it really is a "deal" like a discount/sale/closeout type of thing, the first one is right on target. If it's just a product without any kind of discount, the second one describes it best. Not to mention, both are SEO friendly.

URLs are very important for SEO so it's good to get this right as it's a bugger to change later.

In general go with a url that describes your page or product i.e. it should read like a short sentence and every word should help to describe the page or product without duplication or redundancy.

If you have related content or products group them under the same subfolder as this helps users and search engine understand that content better. For example:

      sportskit.com/footwear/soccer/astro-turf/nike

I know with confidence that if i click that URL i'm gonna see nike soccer boots for astro turf pitches and if i click the astro-turf subfolder i'm gonna see a list of astro turf soccer boots.

Also notice how the URL drills down gradually getting more and more specific.

I will suggest you to use this => product/203602/Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force but it will be more better to remove 203602/ in your URL Structure

I do not like any of them, and you are wrong about URL structure. It is important for SEO.

I would go with something like

    pricewombat.com/games-and-accessories/ear-phones/turtle-beach-ear-force

For SEO news, discussions, tactics, and more.

    Strike one.

Google looks up & down a URL structure for a parent/child hierarchy.

Google has no idea what /f/ is, your trying to force Google to guess which isn't going to happen:
    • hxxp://www.pricewombat.com/f/4-deal-talk

This example says /f/ is actually a /forum/, Google can work with a keyword, they can't work with a single letter:
    • hxxp://www.pricewombat.com/forum/4/deal-talk

Link structure still matter a lot for SEO so i would go for p://www.pricewombat.com/forum/4/deal-talk
There's absolutely no point in using just a single letter, as mentioned above.

    I would of gone with.
    hxxp://www.pricewombat.com/Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force
    hxxp://www.pricewombat.com/Forum/Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force

I would also avoid using uppercase and lowercase, you seem to be using both in the example.
