Will google index a word on a page with and asterisk on the end of it correctly?

For example: marriage* void*

would these words be correctly indexed as marriage and void?

      I'm not talking about titles, I'm talking about the body of a page. I'm going to assume it's bad practice anywhere. Thank you.

        First lets look at the definition of asterisk:

        A symbol (*) used to mark printed or written text, typically as a reference to an annotation or to stand for omitted matter.
        • So, are you making a reference to some other text that's on the same webpage?
        • Why do you want to use an asterisk, does it serve a purpose?

        An asterisk isn't going to hurt a page, If that was the case you wouldn't see asterisks in the SERPs (yet they're in the SERPs).

          It denotes an inexact match on a search result page. For example:

          Search results for: appoint* in paragraphs of {bookname}

          which means the search finds appoint, appointment, appointed etc.

          What I'm asking is, since the search term is a keyword for the page will Google see the word "appoint*" and index it as "appoint". I'm thinking I should change this to avoid indexing confusion. What effect does the asterisk have on how google indexes the word?

          Thanks.
