Getting Articles To Rank Higher

What are some good methods to bump up article rank?
I'm trying to get my articles to come up on first page search.

Will posting in niche blog comments with the "Website" field as my
article URL help bump up rankings? I know a lot of blogs have "nofollow" comments sections but will it help anyways?

Please, any tips will be appreciated. I typically only submit to 5 high alexa rating article directories, if you needed to know..

      Comments on similar blogs works well. I have a real estate site and commenting blogs that are in the real estate field work well. I can have backlinks in 2-3 days.

    Commenting on nofollow blogs won't help your rankings.

    Maybe try our Angela Edward backlinking guide if you're stuck?
    Social bookmarking might do the trick, as well as other articles, squidoo lenses, and other dofollow websites with PR in general.
