Recent Posts on sidebar good or bad for SEO?

Hello Warriors. On my sidebar, I usually have a list of the last 10 recent posts. I'm wondering since this sidebar is on every singe post (and page), is this going to hurt my SEO rankings?

And if so, is there a certain number of recent posts to keep it to? Or do I just get rid of it completely?

Thanks!

It is weakening all the internal links on your site.

For SEO it is not a great thing, but sometimes you need to balance SEO with user experience.

It's not ideal, but if you feel your users use it a lot, then it is worthwhile.

I don't think I would have 10 of them though. That seems a bit excessive.

you can use popular post based on high views and comments in your sidebar rather than recent posts.

I just took it off and am using the last 4 posts as recent. I've noticed that i'm top 10 in yahoo and bing, and for google i'm still 500+. In google webmasters, I have no messaged and my site is indexed. So maybe it has to do with those links?

    Thanks!
