  • That really depends upon how much you know about Google and SEO. As there are many changes in algo of ranking of websites, so i think you need to keep updated with latest tactics. Apply them to your website ranking and you are going to get quickly ranked. Do not do things super fast as this might get sites banned or suspended..

The first thing in my view is check the history of the website. If the website is blacklist in past or get penalized it will take more time to get listed again. Try to put fresh content on the website and work on link building don't spam it. Put your links into relevant listing.

How you can check that? And what to do if the domain is penalized?

If it is a competitive niche, it will probably never rank doing those things.

There is no magic for ranking a website in Google neither there is anyone that can tell you how long it will take to get rank in first page. There are some factors that you must take care of it :
    1. age of domain
    2. competition of keywords
    3. Unique and quality content
    4. SEO optimized title
    5. Linking
    And most important patience

I don't think you're hearing people when they say, "It's not that simple." To use an analogy, here's what you're telling us-

I bought a car. It has gas in it. The tires are okay. How long will it take to drive to Ontario, Canada?

There's no way to answer that question because we have no idea what you've done to help/hurt your site, how strong your competition is, or what other factors you're taking care of. How many backlinks have you established? How many daily visitors do you have? How are you promoting your site? How often are you adding great content?

All of these things matter AND the quality of each one matters as well. Since you don't know that and can't understand why others are saying this, I'll say that your site will not rank for your main keywords for at least 3 years. Because that's how long it will take you to learn what kind of quality we're talking about and how to actually implement it.

That's the simplest example you can have. I totally agree with you.
I wanted to say it could take 3-4 months too but there are things needed to be considered first so it totally depends.

Ranking properly in Google in a competitive niche is not trivial.

You need to have lots of quality content built on a clear strategy.

Don't build links of any kind. Be patient and let them grow naturally to your great content.

As saeedrk says. It ain't magic.

That depends entirely on how competitive the market is. If its not competitive at all, within a few days you can be on the front page for your main keyword. If its highly competitive - well, you might get INDEXED quite quickly but after that it's nowhere near as easy to rank in the top spots without some proper linking strategy.

Totally depends. If you have a good site and doesn't have a lot of competitors I think it'll be easy to promote your website otherwise it'll take time and dedication to make your website rank in Google as you need to beat your other competitor/s.
