Whitehat Link Building & Traffic Generation

Currently I have a site built and the on-site SEO in pretty good condition, I now need to go about the real ranking of my site.

How do I go about link building? My site is related to writing reviews / guides for a popular tourist place to help people plan. So I am kind of stuck on how to get traffic via SEO, and I'm even stuck on paid advertising due to the fact the niche is a little high to buy adwords / bing ads (Around $4 per click). Also, the comp is fairly low, but not extremely low. I'd say the comp is between low-medium to rank in, (From what I observed.)

Thanks for any help regarding this.

  • If you have the money and expertise, invest in a Tourist-related niche pbn and link back to your money site. Alternatively, you can go the free route with Web 2.0's.

Both of these methods would give you strong, contextual backlinks. Make sure your content resonates to you niche to bypass Google's relevancy filter.

Tip: When bidding, start with $0.05 on Bing, if you don't get clicks, move your bid up by 2 cents and keep doing it till you start getting clicks. Bing Ads are CHEAP and with proper optimization, you get clicks for less than 10 cents

Thanks for the info about the Bing ads, I never really thought of that.

It's crazy how something so simple can get overlooked.

As with the PBN, how would I go about finding these?

In my opinion, you aren't advanced enough to start thinking of PBNs. Focus on web 2.0 links unless you want to purchase links from someone's PBN which I don't recommend.

For link building you can try joining tourism forums and build reputation there. If you're already allowed to post your signature after some posts then that's good as you can post your website's link there then.

This will help, yes. But I don't think that many people looking to go to my niche destination will be on forums.

Then have you tried the social media? If you you think the result of joining niche forums will be poor then back it up with paid blogs according to your niche.

        There's your answer.

Go to wherever your target traffic is hanging out online.

If money is not an issue then go for social media paid campaigns. Also create group on social media websites like facebook, add members and make it popular through social media. Ask your family, friends, others to share their real reviews & make it viral. As this will build good reputation among visitors.

I hear a lot of people talking about social media, I will defenitly be on there. But I really want to be getting high ranks in search engines as I believe this is how I will get a lot of traffic / leads (Due to it being so targeted).
Anything besides things like forums, web 2.0s, and PBN to build links with, that are of quality?

Well it depends...is your content worthy of being linked to?

If it is, start an email outreach campaign and try to get links from the places you have mentioned, as well as general travel blogs/sites.

Take a look at this post I wrote to see how you can get some really high quality links without spending a ton (although it will require a lot of effort).
