    Firstly you need to analyse your content to see if it exists anywhere on the web. Use copyscape to do this. If you do have duplicate content then my advice would be to remove it immediately.

    You should setup Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools. Use Ahrefs and other sites to try and find which links are bad and causing the penalties, then use the Disavow tool to get rid of them. Make sure your content is good as well, and not duplicated.

    If you have duplicate content change it. Speed up your site. Do proper SEO. Stop black hat. Remove bad link and request google that it will not happen again

    1) Check the Internet for duplicate content by pasting full sentences from your website onto Google's bar. If there are other websites which copied you, report them

    2) If you are not already doing this - ONLY write ORIGINAL content.
