Where should I start and what should I do? Im a developer with limited funds and want to start attracting more leads.

I have not looked into SEO much at all yet,
but im ready to start marketing one of my sites and SEO seems very complicated(not something I find interest in lol).. everyone uses different methods and pushes different products

I want to learn exactly how it works to improve my sites SEO as much as possible
Like, I want to learn how google.com search engine works, what factors are affecting SEO

Are there any free sites that submit your domain to a search engine?(ive seen a couple that cost 100$) im sure there are manual ways to submit the domains..

I am also looking for a good keyword generator

    First off, I'd say that SEO isn't complicated as you think. It's just a simple straightfoward process of getting your page rank high in Google.

    If you want to improve your website visibility on the search engines, do the following;

    1) Use Google Keyword Planner to generate related keywords to your page and to see how tough the competition of the keywords are.
    2) Optimize the keyword chosen
    3) Create backlinks to the website

    Those are just tip of an ICE BERG.

    I'd recommend you go get "The Art of SEO" book to become a good SEO practioner.
