hello folks,


On my wordpress blog i am using default permalink settings. (http://mysite.com/sample-post/). So i have question to you guys.. is it better to display category/post name or page/category/post name to add some sort of depth to your site, because google pays attention o every little thing we do on our website ...

    I have always read that shorter links are better. I would keep it to just postname, unless you have massive amounts of content.

    is there any difference between post name and custom structure mode as it is shown on this image?? because now i am using post name mode..

      It is the the same thing BIBI, you can use either.
      The custom structure setting allows you to enter more code options.
      If you set custom structure only to post name when you update the page it will show as Post name.

    now i was watching matt cutts video and it seems that he is also using only post name for permalink. Though he didn’t mentioned any thing directly about SEO benefits of using simple WordPress permalink, but he did mentioned about such permalink helps in keeping thing simple.

    Maximum webmasters recommend to use postname as permalink as it looks more cleaner.
